By now most of you know that I left the Atlanta Hawks on March 30. I went into it in a bit of detail here, but the summary is it was time for me to focus on career growth & development, and the Hawks’ organization wasn’t the place for me to do that.
What I haven’t said publicly, but I’m excited to share with you now, is that I started on the Buffalo Wild Wings social media content team last week. I’m thrilled to be joining a growing and evolving organization. Buffalo Wild Wings was purchased by Atlanta-based Arby’s in February, and as a result the Buffalo Wild Wings headquarters will be based out of Atlanta.
The restaurant industry will be a new industry for me, having only worked in news and sports previously, and this is also the first national brand I’ve been a part of. It will be a new challenge, which I’m ready for, and I have a lot to learn, which is exciting. One of the priorities of the now-parent company Inspire Brands is digital and social media, so I’m excited to help lead the strategy and team-building for a new Buffalo Wild Wings social focus. I’ve spent the past week-and-a-half learning about the brand and the industry, as well as helping to put our social strategy together. This will continue for the next several weeks and beyond, and I hope we will start seeing the fruits of our labor pay off this summer. Most of all, I’m excited to work on a brand whose core drivers are things I love: wings, beer and sports.
I look forward to using this blog to share my personal sports thoughts with you, as well as stories from when I was with the Hawks. In the meantime, feel free to connect with me or follow Buffalo Wild Wings on social:
